Some who come already have their call. Some are still praying about whether to serve. Some know a full-time mission isn’t their path and want to learn to share the gospel anyway. All of them belong in the same room.

There’s ice cream first.
Doors open at 2:45 with ice cream — fifteen minutes to find your friends, meet someone new, and celebrate whoever just opened their call. Class starts at 3:00.

Who should attend?+
Whether you already plan to serve, are still deciding, or simply want to share the gospel more effectively — you are welcome.
- Juniors & seniors — preparing for a teaching mission, service mission or a lifetime of sharing the gospel.
- Graduates 18–25 — preparing for a teaching or service mission are also invited.
Do I need a mission call to attend?+
No.
When and where is it?+
- Every Sunday — September through May, following the school calendar.
- Starts 2:45 PM — and finishes at 4:00.
- Stake Center — 21762 S Spurr Cross Rd, Queen Creek.
- First class — Sunday, September 13, 2026.
- Summer off — no official classes in June, July or August.
What does a Sunday actually look like?+
Seventy-five minutes.
- 2:45–3:00 — Ice cream social — welcoming new people, building friendships, celebrating missionary calls.
- 3:00–4:00 — Mission Prep — instructor-led learning, group discussion, teaching practice, mentoring and peer learning.
- Lessons follow — the 13 chapters of Preach My Gospel, plus missionary skills recommended by the Church.
What should I wear?+
Church clothes are not required. Come dressed modestly and comfortably.
What should I bring?+
The Gospel Library app is welcome, though hard copies are encouraged for marking and note-taking.

What are the 15 Mission Prep Challenges?+
Optional challenges inspired by the First Presidency and Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, in four areas:
- Scripture study and spiritual growth
- Missionary experiences
- Leadership and service
- Personal preparation
- Complete all 15 — and you receive a Mission Prep Certificate.
What are in-home teaching visits?+
Once a month, in partnership with the wards, you may be invited to teach a short gospel lesson in the home of a ward family — the way full-time missionaries do. They:
- Give a safe, welcoming place to practice teaching.
- Bless the family who hosts.
- Build your confidence before you enter the mission field.
- Optional — but strongly encouraged, especially once you have received your call.
What about returned missionaries?+
- Returned and full-time missionaries attend through the year and serve as mentors.
- Every quarter — a Returned Missionary Q&A Panel, where recently returned missionaries share experiences and answer questions.
How is attendance handled?+
Attendance is recorded each week and shared with bishops and youth leaders, so they can support and encourage you.
What does it cost?+
Nothing. It is free to enroll and free to take part.
What if I don't have a phone?+
You're still fully included. Everything important works without a phone, and a parent or leader can help you stay in the loop.

For members & families
Host Family — FAQ
What is an in-home teaching visit?+
A youth preparing to serve comes to your home and teaches a short gospel lesson — the way a full-time missionary would. You are the family they get to practice with, in a warm, low-pressure setting.
Why does it matter?+
Real teaching experience is one of the best ways to prepare for missionary service. These visits:
- Give a safe, welcoming place to practice teaching.
- Bless the family who hosts.
- Build a youth's confidence before they enter the mission field.
Do we need to be a 'perfect' teaching family?+
No. You don't need to prepare anything or know any answers. Your only job is to welcome them, listen, and be yourselves.
How often would we host?+
There is no set schedule. Signing up adds your family to a stake-wide rotation of volunteers, and two of the youth call you themselves when a visit is being arranged.
- About 30–45 minutes — for the lesson itself.
- No standing commitment — you are not reserving a recurring slot.
- Always by arrangement — you agree the timing each time the youth call.
Who comes to the home?+
Two or more Mission Prep youth come together and teach as a companionship. They travel on their own or with a parent, and no leader attends the lesson.
- Husband and wife both present — this is what allows the youth to enter the home. If one of you cannot be there, a leader attends in your place.
Does our bishop know?+
Yes. Every host family is approved by their own bishop before any youth is invited over, and he can withdraw that approval at any time.
Can we choose who we host?+
Yes. When you sign up you can note whether you'd prefer to host young men, young women, or either.
How do we volunteer?+
Tap Offer Your Home and fill out the short form. Once your bishop has approved your home, two of our youth will call you themselves to arrange a time — making that call is part of what they are learning.
